Brita Water Filter Tastes Funny. Most Brita pitchers use a coconut-based activated carbon filter that removes mercury and other harmful substances but is very good at improving water taste as well. Brita walter filtered water tastes yuck.
When I filter pre-filtered water like the 5-gallons from local stores water machine for 149 using your own 5-gallon bottle ZeroWater lasts longest months. Guess its still worth getting it tested. If you can narrow down whether your tap water tastes like fruity plastic or a rubbery plastic with an antiseptic taste there may be a solution in your pipes.
But it tastes just like milky water.
I was sick for days. It does not actually do very much. For those of you thinking of re-plumbing with plastic pipes some forewarning about taste and the state of knowledge. I change them every 2 mos.
